Hello,
Thank you for asking your query at DoctorSpring. I would like to know some additional information from you so that I can provide my best learned opinion.
You can reply as a followup.
-Since when it is there? (hours / weeks /..)
-Is there any history of previous injury or trauma ? Even a trivial one, say during a football match ?
-Are you overweight by any chance ? Your approximate BMI ?
- Can you please say where exactly is the pain ( eg in both hips, in the back side over the bony prominence ?)
Thank you

Thank you for your response.
As I said in my enquiry it has been around 6 months, I had no previous injury but I had a habit of driving with my left leg crossed underneath my right thigh, as I drive an automatic gear with my right foot only, ( could this be a cause?), I am overweight by about 15 kgs, the pain is at the top of the joint nearer to the hip, but as I mentioned it mainly pains if I try to cross my left leg or lift up my foot at the wash basin to wash for prayer, but only if I do side ways if I do completely straight it doesn't bother me.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards
Khaled
Thanks for information.
I have read your replies.
It looks from your history, your age & your details that you may be having either injury to your cartilage in your joint or to labrum(which covers the outer part of hip joint).Although it looks that this should not a major one. This is early phase or early grade of injury. This may have caused by long period of obesity.
At present you should do following to have relief in this-
-Try to reduce more weight ,so that overloading of joint can be avoided.
-Have a MRI investigation of your hip.
-Avoid using stairs frequently.
-Avoid cross leg posture.
--Take a mild analgesic like advil or aleeve.
Your further treatment will depend on your MRI report. If there is small lesion at your cartilage then treatment is conservative & activity modification. In large lesion you may need surgery.
Hope this will help you.
Please feel free to ask followup questions.
With best wishes.
