Hello and thankyou for approaching DoctorSpring with your query.
I have gone through your concern. It is a good thing that your cardiac tests have come normal like EKG and blood tests.
It is possible to get continuous poisoning from fish and shell fish as they contain traces of methylmercury, or from dental amalgam in teeth fillings. However there are fish advisories that do keep a check on unsafe levels of methylymercury in fish.
As I said earlier to definitely make sure if you have the metals in your body or not is only testing for them. It is not advisable to take any medication without knowing for sure the metal levels in your body.
You do have symptoms similar to mercury poisoning but they are not significant. By not significant I mean that they are not specific for mercury , bromadiolone or phosphide poisoning and can be due to other causes. For a definite diagnosis you need to get tested for the metals. If you have been under a lot of stress lately, that could also precipitate similar symptoms.
My advise to you would be cut down on fish consumption for a month.
Also stay away from rodenticides.
Eat a healthy diet, cut down on sugar, carbohydrates fats, eat fruits vegetables. And exercise
Take Vitamin C and Vitamin B capsules one per day.
If you feel you are depressed or anxious you could speak to a psychiatrist
Most importantly try and get yourself tested for the metals to rule out toxicity.
I hope this has helped.
Thankyou
Patient replied :
I have been tested by my hair and was found that I have been poisoned by the metals I have stated. It was actually found in food that was given to me and intentionally put there. I need to get to a doctor to do a follow up test in which they can tell me where the poisons are at now. When I went to the ER, I was hoping that they would do the test, but they said they do not test for heavy metals. I am just scared that these poisons have done permanent damage to my brain and that there is something seriously wrong with me. I am feeling somewhat better today as I have started taking chorella, cilantro as well as Vitamin C.
In addition to this, how long do heart tests last as I have had a echo and a stress test less then a year ago, should I go again?
Hello,
Good to hear you are feeling better.
The heavy metals do cause brain damage but when consumed at toxic levels.
I would suggest you get a 'Urine Toxic Metal Screening ' done. It will be the only way we can make a definite diagnosis.
You need not repeat the ECHO and stress tests.
Continue the healthy diet changes and vitamin C.
Hope this has helped. You can follow up with your test results.
Thankyou
