Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
Your vertical growth depends on the closure of your epiphyseal plate of bones. In lay man terms, the end of long bones close at different ages for different people and once they close, there can be no further growth in length of bones. The growth of girls ceases earlier than that of boys. This happens around 4-5 years old patientafter puberty. These days, girls attain puberty at around 10-12 years old patientof age and boys at around 12-14 years old patientof age. Hence, growth ceases by 18 years old patientage in most of the people.
Growth until 21 years old patientof age is theoretically possible in very few individuals. Activities like skipping, swimming, pull-ups, etc. may help. No definitive proof regarding their efficacy exists.
