Light brown spots on child and possibility of Neurofibromatosis

Resolved question:
there are 4 light brown spots (3 are of 1cm,1 is 1/2 cm) on my 6 yrs old son's skin (on back,limb,chest). these spots have appeared during 24 months. is he suffering from Neurofibromatosis?? there is no family history, no other symptoms & he is very good in academics.

These lesions as you described most likely care cafe au lait macules, which are commonly seen in patients with neurofibromatosis. But for them to be significant, they should be at least six or more in number.

In addition, there should be other skin lesions, such as neurofibromas (small tumors under the skin arising from the nerve), axillary freckling, etc. Also, there should be seizures, mental retardation, optic nerve tumors, etc.

So, I do not think your child has neurofibromatosis at this moment, and there is no need to worry.
