Hello,
I have read your question as follow-up to our previous conversation.
As explained previously, the need for preserving or removing the kidney depends upon how much kidney is involved by the tumor during surgery. CT scan can not definitely say about kidney involvement.
I understand your anxiety, would be happy to answer any follow-ups.

Patient replied :
Is it common for the tumour in Colon to invade kidney ? And is removal more likely you think?
It depends on how much close the tumor is to the the kidneys. The need for removal of kidneys depend on how much kidney is involved by the tumor. This can be definitely said only during surgery after seeing it during operation.

Patient replied :
What are the cure rates if kidney is involved ? Does this actually mean cancer has spread in the kidney?
Cure rates depend on the stage of the disease along with many other parameters as per the pathology report. Please send me the final pathology report after surgery to guide you better in this regard.
Patient replied :
Hi my dad had surgery today . Kidney was not removed , only a slight bit from the bottom . Surgeon said tumor was very close to it.
So does this still mean kidney invasion ?
Please explain what do you mean by - only a slight bit from the bottom? Hope the surgeon did and excellent job. As explained before surgery gave a clear idea on the tumor infiltration of the kidneys.
