Resolved question:
I have been having muscle twitches over my body for 2 months. I decided to get a check up and the doctor ordered a parathyroid test, vitamin D, calcium and magnesium test. The doctor also told me to start taking magnesium. After taking the magnesium most of the twitches went away except were replaced with muscle soreness/ cramps in my legs. This is happened for 3 days now. Should i be worried that it could be ALS or something like that or is this a normal side effect of magnesium supplements if you have a deficiency.
I am also a 20 year old male

Hello.
Thank you for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I have noted your symptoms. I would like to reassure you that your symptoms are not suggestive of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and you need not worry.
Muscle cramps/soreness can occur due to magnesium deficiency or supplements, and it should go away in a few days.
I hope it helps.
Feel free to discuss further,
Best wishes,

Hi it's been a couple of days and the cramps have gone but now my left upper lip won't stop twitching it has been 6 hours and it is still going could it be calcium deficiency or stress?
Thanks
Hello.
Thank you for getting back.
Iam glad to note that your muscle cramps have gone.
Twitching of the upper lip is most likely related to stress. With rest and relaxation, it would go away.
Bet wishes,
