Hello,
Thanks for writing to DoctorSpring.com with your health concern.
Scientifically speaking, there is no fruit, vegetable or food item which will help you to get regular periods.
All those stories are just myths.
YOu should seriously consult a gynaecologist for your irregular menstrual cycles.
Stress, tensions in personal life, studies or at work, recent weight gain or weight loss, ingestion of hormonal medications, changes in your sleep, diet or lifestyle, changes in climate or altitude, hectic travelling - all these are reasons for irregular cycles.
I think one leading possibility in your case is PCOS - polycystic ovarian syndrome.
IT is a condition of basic hormonal imbalance, where the ovaries are studded with multiple cysts, so periods are irregular due to irregular ovulation.
Weight loss and medications such as Metformin will help in this case.
PLease consult a gynecologist, have a checkup.
Go for the following investigations -
FSH, LH, TSH, Prolactin, OGTT, DHEAS, free testosterone, fasting Insulin, Lipid Profile, Pelvic ultrasound scan.
Maintain ideal weight and exercise regularly in moderation.
All the best.
Please feel free to discuss this further.
