Resolved question:
I recently got a bladder infection and was prescribed Bactrim. It made my joints ache, sever seating, sick to my stomach,etc.. So I am now taking amoxicillin. I was prescribed 1 dose of 500mg twice a day. I have taken 3 diesels and my omit is extremely dry and really red. Should I keep taking it? Take just one a day? I don't want to quit another antibiotic. I am a healthy 28 year old woman.

Hello,
Thank you for choosing DoctorSpring.
Could you please clarify this line : ". I have taken 3 diesels and my omit is extremely dry and really red. ". Do you mean vomit ? Diesels ?
Also may know whether you had any puffiness of face, rashes, abdominal pain etc while taking Amoxicillin ?
You can reply as a followup
Thank you
I'm sorry! I should have checked that. I have taken 3 500mg amoxicillin . 2 yesterday and one this morning. It is making my tongue irritated and red. I'm not sure if it's because I took Zyrtec d as well and it really dried me out or it's a reaction to the amoxicillin.
Thank you it seems you are having an allergic reaction to Amoxicillin. Zyrtec D will not cause these manifestations. In this scenario it is not safe to continue amoxicillin.
The next best option will be a Fluroquinolone group of medication like Norfloxacin 400 mg twice daily for 7 days in CONSULT with your Doctor. (especially since you had allergic reaction). It is better to look into a Urine culture test result (which will show which antibiotics are good for the current infection) and finalise an antibiotic.
Drink plenty of water. You can continue Zyrtec (Palin Zyrtec is better than Zyrte D) once a day for 2-3 days. This will take care of the allergic reactions.
Hope this helps

Ok, we'll I took one more last night because I didn't hear from you. My mouth wa super dry and I had to wake up every hour to drink water but my tongue isn't red this morning, my mouth is just really dry still. Should I keep trying?
NO you should not. It will only make the symptoms worse. Please discontinue and opt for another antibiotics (please see my previous response ). Repeated exposure will put in you in risk for more serious reactions.
Thank you
