Hello,
Thank you for choosing DoctorSpring.
I can see that there are two consults from your email ID with overlapping information. Could you please clarify ? Are you asking for the same person / or are they two different consults ? I can see an investigation report attached of a 51 year old patient. Am I supposed refer that for this query ?
Thank you
Patient replied :
Both Questions are for two different persons. This one is of 51 year old patient and the other one, it is for 22 year old. I have attached the medical report for the other one like you told
Hello,
Thank you for the clarification.
I have gone through your report and understand your concern.
Your lymphocytes, eosinophils, ESR are slightly on the higher side. This is not a concern. WBCs (white blood cells) are supposed to go up and down during minor inflammations and infections :
The Random blood sugar is non specific. You will need to get a Fasting Blood Sugar
What is concerning is the altered liver function values :
You have a high and SGOT and SGPT (which represents the liver function )
This might require further evaluation.
I would like to know
1) Alcohol intake history -
2). Any medical illness , infections recently ?
3) Any history of jaundice in the past ?
4) Body weight and Height
5) Any medications ?
I will suggest further investigation in the followup email
Thank you
Patient replied :
1) Alcohol intake history - 120 mL daily
2) Any medical illness , infections - Cough & Cold
3) Any history of jaundice in the past - Hepatitis A 15 Years Back
4) Body weight and Height - 160 cm height, Weight - 80Kg
5) Any medications - Medicine for Cholesterol, BP and Diabetes control.
The patient has several factors which can result in the raised SGPT and SGOT. - Alcohol intake, Medications, possible metabolic syndrome.
The fatty liver could be an early sign of cirrhosis (both will manifest similarly in the ultrasound) . Patient cannot afford to drink alcohol any further. If so, it might lead on to irreversible liver damage. So as first step stop the alcohol intake. Repear the LFT after 1 month.
He also needs to do the following tests :
Thyroid function test
HBsAg
Anti HCV.
Fasting Blood Sugar
H1AbC
You can followup with your Doctor or me.
Thank you
