I meant to put in with my last questions the questions of: is levothyroxine or whatever & synthroid the same medicine? I recently finished the levothryoxine & started the synthroid. I think the dose was at either 50 or 75 mcg. Could this be a reason for all the intense hot spells?
I usually or here lately been drinking 2 or 3 sodas a day. Sometimes 1-2. Is this amount of sodas impacting things to where its as bad as it is now?

Although the Sodas are not good for health at all, it should not cause hot spells. Synthyroid is same medicine as Levothyroixine. And yes it could be the cause for the hot spells (although the probability is pretty less). Just make sure that your taking the same dose. And if symptoms persisting you may consider thyroid function testing.
Patient replied :
I immediately started taking the synthroid after the levothyroxine. I finished the levothyroxine on one day and started the synthroid the next day. So my question is is switching from the levothyroxine immediately to the synthroid causing my intense hot spells, or like you said its just a probability? Since they are both basically the same thing I would think its not the medicine but my thyroid acting up. I will be seeing my doctor about doing the thyroid tests. Thanks!
No, switching wont cause this. Instead there is a rare chance that your Thyroid regained some function over time. That means the medication you are taking is kind of excess. This may cause the symptoms. Thank you
