Hello,
Thanks for asking your question at Doctor Spring.
Have you noticed bats in your area, in and around your house, or in the room you sleep in? Bat bites usually occur only if the bat is vulnerable as from being trapped in a house or if it is injured and meddled with. If so, then please go to your local physician right away and get treatment. If not, then no need to worry.
A bat bite and rabies are highly unlikely. Bites could be anything from mosquitos to spiders to bed bugs and should be taken seriously only if serious symptoms occur. Most bites have some degree of itching, redness, and swelling and usually go away on their own.
Observe for a week. If however you develop signs of fever, rash, pain, or other serious symptoms ~ then you should alert a physician and seek treatment.
Please feel free to ask any follow up questions. Take care and be well.
Regards.
