- HSV1 usually occurs above waist, like in mouth lips etc. HSV2 infection usually occurs below waist ie genital area.
- Yes, HSV1 can spread from mouth to penis via oral sex. It can be recurring too if the contact continues.
- No you cannot get HSV 2 from HSV1 without another infection
- IgG of HSV1 and 2 are not a definitive test. It can be falsely positive. It can also indicate a previous infection. So if you have symptoms of HSV1 with the positive IgG then you can safely conclude there is HSV infection. Otherwise this test is not meaningful.
