Hello
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern
See you cannot differentiate if it is coming from your cervix or your uterus, because blood from the uterine cavity also exits through the cervical canal, and ultimately, the vagina.
But if you are having spotting, then it surely warrants investigation, especially after menopause.
Causes vary.
Common ones are - atrophic vaginitis ( dryness and friability of the local tissues due to estrogen deficiency ), cervical lesions ( abnormal cells, polyps ) , fibroids, thickening of the lining of the uterus, and lastly - cancers of the uterus / cervix.
You should be seeing a Specialist Ob- Gyn, and having the following workup -
1. internal per vaginum and per speculum exam
2. Pelvic ultrasound scan done transvaginally.
3. Pap smear.
This would reveal a diagnosis.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.
