Hello,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
Dear Sam, once a period starts, nothing can possibly stop it.
If you had anticipated the dates, progesterone medications can help to prepone or postpone the dates of expected periods.
However, once actual bleeding starts, nothing stops it.
Emergency pill would only lead to further irregular bleeding and spotting, while doing nothing to stem the current period.
Short of using excellent quality tampons, there is nothing much you can do.
All the best with your concert.
Take care.
Please feel free to discuss further.
Regards.

Dear Dr. Aarti, Thanks for your response, one of my friend used ibuprofane 800 in a similar condition and she was able to stop the flow for sometime. My concert is in Dubai and the dresses have been finalized already. This is a lifetime opportunity for me and I cannot play with this thing specially on the first two days. I would have done precautive meds, however this time I got a irregular period and not on my normal schedule. May be you could suggest something to lighten the flow ...Please help!!

Hello,
Thank you for your follow up.
According to the knowledge of medications that is currently avaialable, there is no scientific reason to explain why ibuprofen reduced blood flow for your friend. It would be just a coincidence, because ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug used to treat pain and fever (much like Crocin). Menstrual cycles occur according to variations in hormone levels which cannot be manipulated by ibuprofen.
I fail to see why tampons cannot help you, they should be able to.
You can try taking Progesterone tablets in high dosage, they might lighten the flow.
Deviry , Modus, Norethisterone are some of them.
What is your height and weight, I might suggest a dosage.
Please feel free to discuss further, hope this helps

Hello,
Thank you for the follow up query.
I surely understand, and I so wish the medication does its best to lighten the flow. Am sure the concert will be an outstanding success, nevertheless.
Take any medication containing medroxyprogesterone acetate or norethisterone ( I do not know where you live, so cannot suggest brands ), but common ones are Meprate, Deviry, Primolut - N etc. Dosage would be 10mg twice a day for 2 - 3 days. ( expect a heavier period after that ).
For the pain, please take a medication containing mefenamic acid ( combination of tranexamic acid and mefenamic acid will help in lightening flow as well ) on an as needed basis. Common brands are Meftal spas, Tranexa - MF. Whichever one can obtain take one tablet as needed and you will obtain pain relief.
Use a hot water bottle to relieve the pain. Avoid stressing out, you will do just fine.
Hope this helps, feel free to discuss further
