Resolved question:
Hi, I have been on this site in the past. I had a stroke in May and have issues all summer. Lately my blood pressure has been sometimes 98/65 - 115/70.. Tonight I felt a dizzy when standing and actually it happens from time to time. I have never passed out though. I am 6 feet and weigh around 215. I eat very healthy since my stroke.. Very low sodium, only drink water, chicken, fish, veggies and fruits. I checked my BP just a little while ago and it was 100/70. Is this considered normal? I guess I've always remembered my BP being a little higher. I have lost a little weight and eat healthier now.
Just curious... My cardiologist didn't seem so worried about it.

Hello.
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
Does this dizziness occur when you get up from sleeping position or sitting position to standing position?
Have you started some medications to reduce the blood pressure or some medications that increase urine output?
If it occurs on standing from supine or sitting position then probably it is postural hypotension. It occurs when you are dehydrated or on medications which reduce bp. The blood gravitates towards your legs when you stand up and this results in poor blood flow to brain for few seconds till the body gets adjusted.
Feel free to discuss further,

The dizziness does not happen in the morning. Actually this morning I got up and checked my BP and it was 108/74 and pulse was 67. I did not have any dizziness. Often times it will happen at night from sitting or laying to standing. But does not happen every night. I do drink lots of water and the only medication I take is Aspiring (164mg), Lexapro (10mg) and Xanax (.25).
It seems I have you answering two posts. So from the other post. I was wrong. My AFIB episode only lasted for 6 seconds and they said it needed to last for longer than 30 seconds to warrant putting me on blood thinner. Currently I take as I stated above. Seems my bp gets lower at night. But my cardiologist didn't seem to be worried. They have told me they treat the symptoms and not the BP. When I was in the hospital with my stroke my BP was 115/70 pretty much everytime they checked it. Since leaving the hospital back in may I no longer drink alchohol or caffeine beverages. I also eat low sodium and low fat diet and walk everyday. I have also lost weight. Could this be why I get readings of bp of 110/70 etc? My GP doctor said 100/70 is normal. What do you consider normal? And when should I start worrying about my BP?
Hello
The symptoms suggest postural hypotension. Did the symptoms start after lexapro?
Lexapro is known to cause postural hypotension. The treatment is to first move your legs sideways before getting up from bed for 1 or 2 min. This improves the circulation to brain. Then slowly get up with support. You could also try increase in intake of caffeinated drinks like coffee or tea so that the circulation improves due to increase in vascular tone
