Resolved question:
Hi, I was diagnosed with a stress fracture in my heel and chronic torn ligament 6 weeks ago. Been in a boot and crutches for 5 weeks, and started bearing weight on my foot for the last week and started physical therapy.
2 Days after starting to walk on the boot I started experiencing serious pain and my foot is Significantly swollen. Is this typical? Shall I continue baring weight, shall I continue with PT?
Thanks for your help

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I have read your query with diligence.
It is always not abnormal to have swelling at foot after having boots for 6 weeks. Some time it happen when you start physiotherapy .With movement there is increase in blood flow which may lead to this swelling. The best you can do is to keep your limb elevated whenever you are in position of rest.I will also advice you to apply a soft crepe bandage over your limb from below upward.Contrast bath will help in reduction of swelling & pain. You may ask for this from your therapist.
Hope this will help you.
Regards.
