Child with inflamed rash not resolving with Cortisone

Resolved Question:

my daugther who is 2 and a half... has developed this skin rash... and we don't know where its from...

our doctor while we wait for an appointment with the alergist told us that is some sort of enzema... It looks a bit too inflamated for that she also said so there may be an alergic reaction too we don't know...

I am attaching some pictures maybe you can provide us some guidance on what do with her until then. The cortozone cream the doctor prescribed doesnt work. So we stopped using it. Any suggestions? are there any anti alergic medicines over the counter that we could purchase.

Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring.com. I can understand your concern.

From the pictures, it does seem to be an allergic contact dermatitis. However, there also seems to be a fungal component in it.

I would recommend that you apply clotrimazole cream over it twice a day for three days and see if there is any improvement, if it improves then you can continue it or switch back to the cortisone cream that the doctor has advised. Once you meet the doctor, you will get a prescription for a stronger strength cream.
