Hello,
Thank you for asking your query at DoctorSpring. I understand your concern and will try my best to help you.
I recommend an ER / Doctor visit. This is especially important if you have a history of recent seizures. Fever can precipitate seizures. If you do not have immediate access to medical help, you may cautiously wait for 24 hours to see whether the fever resolves by itself. You may take Acetaminophen 500 mg tablets 3-4 times a day. You should visit your Doctor / ER asap (without waiting) if there is any of the following features are presents.
1. If you have increasing breathlessness, despite a normal SpO2
2. If you are having a remission or in active treatment of DBA (Diamond Blackfan Anemia ) with steroids.
3. History of seizures in the recent past (in last 1 year)
4. Any unusual symptoms other than fever.
5. On treatment of Steroids / History of recent Marrow Transplantation.
Most likely this could be a viral infection. However in view of your chest symptoms a lower respiratory tract bacterial infections needs to ruled out.
Hope this helps.
Please feel free to ask followup queries.
Thank you
