Chest pain over breastbone more on jumping, bending. Treatment?

Resolved Question:

Hello,

I am a male, 21 years old patientold. Recently I have been experiencing chest pains. They are usually on the left side of my chest, localized to a specific location, although sometimes I feel them on the right as well, and occasionally in the middle where my breastbone is. The pains are very mild, and feel like a pressure. I have been getting them randomly throughout the day. They usually last no longer than a quick second or two, but they are consistent. Exercise does not seem to aggravate them or help them. I get them while at rest too. I do notice that some movements can induce them. Breathing in deeply, jumping, bending forward, or lying down can sometimes induce the pains. I do not notice any other symptoms. I have benign SVT, and was recently at the cardiologist for a regular check up. He did an EKG and did not notice anything abnormal. This was about a week before the chest pains started. Could this be cardiac related or is it anything to worry about? Or is most likely caused by something else.

Thank you!

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I have gone through your case history , it looks likely to be non cardiac that is not related to heart.
Any pain pain which last for few seconds and does not get aggravated by any physical exercise or it gets better is unlikely to be of cardiac origin.
Any pain which is of some sort of heaviness of chest with typically increasing with exertion and usually lasts for minutes and may relieve with rest or medications is to be suspected of cardiac origin.
In your case i would not suggest any medications , but if you still have any suspicion then do Tread Mill test, which will give further information about the nature of pain.
Sometimes there may be tenderness over the site of pain suggesting a localized cause which may be due to bone pain or it may be acid peptic disease. A course of Cap. Omeprazole 20 mg twice daily for 2 weeks, helps in such cases.
