Resolved question:
I am a 33 year old male. I have performed oral sex on 6 female partners throughout the summer what are the chances of getting HIV from performing oral sex on women? Second last time I had sex has been 9/15/14, ten days after my last possible exposure I had P24 antigen combo test which came back negative. I waited 23 days after my final exposure (9/15/14) got a RNA qualitative test which also came back negative. I also took another P24 antigen combo test 38 days after my final exposure which came back negative. Based on the tests I took can I be 100 percent sure I don't have HIV? Do I need more tests or the tests I took are conclusive?

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
Oral sex, or a man performing oral sex on a woman, practically has no chance of spreading HIV, even if the female partner is infected. I am yet to see a case where the man got HIV after performing oral sex. So you can be rest assured you do not have HIV.
The only way HIV can be spread from oral sex, is a woman is performing oral sex, and the man ejaculates in her mouth. In case she has some open lesion in her oral cavity, HIV can enter through the open wound.
The only risk that you have is the risk of getting Herpes or HPV. So you can get yourself tested and rule these STDs out.
P24 antigen combo test has extremely high sensitivity even at the end of a month, since that is the first antigen that is detected in the serum of a patient infected with HIV. Since you took it after a month, and it is negative, and considering that your immunity is also good, it can be ruled out completely. Most doctors though recommend waiting for 3 months to get the investigation done, becuase in some rare cases, the viral levels can be undetectable up to 3 months.
I don't think you need any additional tests, because from the exposure you had, there is nothing to worry.
Regarding the sex on 15.09.2014, was it protected intercourse? If it was, then you really don't need to worry any more. In case it was unprotected and the possibility of partner having a positive HIV status can't be ruled out, then you can repeat the test at the end of 3 months.
Regards.
I used protection everytime I have had sex. The time frame I was with all these 6 women was from June 2014 to September 2014 with 9/15/14 being my last possible expsosure. Since I used condom all the time my only fear of infection is from oral sex. I took the RNA qualitive test 21 days after my final possible exposure 9/15/14 and the P24 Antigen test 38 days after my final possible exposure 9/15/14. The tests I took would of detected anything from June, July, August, September right? During the summer I was septerated so I fooled around a lot now I am back with my wife I want to be 100 percent sure the tests I took are conclusive and that I am HIV free? Based on the tests I took can I be 100 percent sure I am HIV free? Or I need more testing?
Yes, you have no chances of acquiring HIV.
There is no chance of getting HIV from oral sex on a female partner.
So you can be rest assured.
I would have asked you to take one more HIV test at the end of three months, if you had any intercourse risk history, but since you used protection every time, there is no worry.
Regards.
So the tests I took are conclusive right I am HIV free correct?
Yes there is no reason to worry.
Let me know if you have other queries,
Regards.
Ever since I started worrying about all this I have a hard time shallowing my spit feels like something is stuck in my troat. What can be the cause of this?
Hello,
It is due to the anxiety.
Now that you know that HIV has been ruled out, there is no further reason for anxiety.
Once you stop worrying the feeling will also disappear.
Regards.
