You seem to be having a condition called pityriasis rosea. Its a viral infection caused by the hhv 8 virus. Its a benign and self resolving infection which usually for 6 to 8 weeks.
The treatment is recommended only in case of itching. You can however application of calamine lotion twice a day.

Thank you for the reply, The only problem I have is the larger spots have been with me all most of last summer and all of winter..more the 6to 8 weeks. and The smaller ones have just recently appeared when i started working again. Could it be Pityriasis versicolor ??

I can understand your concern.
But since it's a viral infection it will take its own course n settle down. You can take a course of oral antibiotic like erythromycin which may slightly speed up the process of resolving the condition but it won't completely clear it up.
