Hi, Thank you for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com ASO tires will be raised in recent Streptococcal infection. Routinely, the values come down in course of time. It is used to diagnose Rheumatic fever , Scarlet fever,Glomerulonephritis. In my opinion, you should take Antibiotic and corticosteroid to reduce the severity of infection. You can take a combination antibiotic like Amoxycillin+Clavulunate acid 650 mg twice daily, but it willbe better if you can be under the care of a senior physician. In your prescription, it is written as RA factor POSITIVE. It may be positive even in normal individuals. As there is no joint pain,Rheumatic fever can be ruled out. But,it has to be confirmed by physician. Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further. Wish you good health. Regards |

Thanks for the reply.
Is there any specific test for Rheumatic fever? Although i have consulted a physician with reports and he said no, wanted to be extra sure. Occasionally feel pain in knee or finger joints for a moment
ASO titre is the only test along with clinical symptoms.
You can try a course of antibiotics to see if it helps under the care of your physician.

Thanks. Any specific reasons for infection , that will help me understand the cause?
The muscle pain can be part of a bacterial or a viral infection.
Sometimes fatigue and muscle pain are the only symptoms.
There is definitely no rheumatic fever, but there seems to be a persistent infection causing the symptoms. Hence, it is better you take a course of antibiotics for the same.
