Bumps on the head of the penis.

Resolved Question:

Hi,I am not 100% sure when they showed up.I think when I was about 7 or so. I have these little white bumps all over my dick. When I was about 13 I asked a doctor about it and He said not to worry they would go away soon, but I am about to turn 21 in July. I have only had one sexual partner at this point...which doesn't really matter because as I have said it started when I was about 7. However, it is super embarrassing I don't want to have sex with the lights on. I was circumcised when I was 16 and around my dick head is the only place the spots are not. As far as I can tell they do not come and go...they are constantly there although (some) of them can be popped almost like a pimple. They don't make white heads really they are just under the skin...but still very noticeable at least to me.I tried not jerking it for a few days...didn't seem to help and I couldn't go that long without getting off.

Hello,

It seems that you have Fordyce's spots.

Fordyce spots are physiological bumps on the penis that occurs in adolescents. They are just sebaceous glands over penis and they are not harmful. They are not sexually transmitted and usually don't require any form of treatment. They usually occur on shaft or head of the penis but sometimes also occur on the lips. If you are very anxious about the way it looks, then there are a few dermatological procedure that can remove them .The only downside being they are expensive.

Here are my recommendations-

1) Learn to ignore it and accept it as a part of yourself. Remember they are completely harmless and do not cause any morbidity.

2) There are a few dermatological procedures for which you will have to consult a dermatologist near you. The procedures are

a) Electro desiccation

b) Pulsed dye lasers

c) CO2 laser

3) Fordyce spots are usually accompanied by anxiety and depression in the individual .If you feel low and anxious do not hesitate to consult a therapist or a psychiatrist.

Thank you.
