Hi,
Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring.com
It looks like a cheek bite which has become like fibrous growth over time.
Generally associated with wisdom tooth causing trauma to the cheek area due to interference during biting.
It usually goes after removal of the wisdom teeth.
In your case, I think u have injured it therefore the redness and swelling.
Apply xylocaine gel if symptoms persist.
If u can get the associated wisdom tooth removed that would be better.
If that doesnt help please ask you doctor to do a biopsy of that area.
Patient replied :
Great, thank you. Also where can I buy xylocaine gel, does it have to be prescribed or is it an over the counter drug?
Hello,
It depends on a country where you are living in. You have to check with the pharmacist. If you don't get it over-the-counter you might need prescription from a GP or a dentist from your country. Or you can check online pharmacy websites if they can sell it to you.
Thanks
