Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
Do you have any associated jaw pain? How big is the swelling?
Mostly such swellings following cold arise because of inflammation of the gland or could even be an enlarged post auricular lymph node.
I will advise you start the following medicines :
1) Tab. Amoxycillin- CV 650 mg twice daily for 5 days.
2) Tab. Levocetrizine 5 mg once daily at bed time for 3 days.
Since it occured after cold, it mostly is due to an enlarged lymph node and will settle down on taking the medicines. In case the swelling increases in size, and the pain increases you can get an ENT opinion for the same.
Feel free to discuss further,
Regards.

Hi,
thank you very much for the fast response. I will try what you have suggested. It is under the skin and is very hard and like a pea I would say. I have had it now for about 4 days and it has just stayed the same size. It doesn't hurt really I have a slight bit of jaw pain but not very often and very much.
Thanks for the help!
Hello,
If it resembles that of a pea, then it mostly is an enlarged lymph node secondary to the cold.
Also the good thing is it has not increased in size.
Let me know after you take the medicines.
Regards.
