Hello,
Thank you for choosing DoctorSpring. Sincere apology for the delay in the reply.
I understand that you have a history of Chronic sinusitis , but this episode does not look like a headache related to the sinuses. I require some additional information from your side so that I can make a learned opinion.
1. Is there watering of the eyes ?
2. Did you take any pain medication ? If so how was the response ?
3. Is there a pain / bulging sensation / throbbing if you bend your heads down ?
4. Is there any blurring of vision ? Or history of seeing any colours, halos around the light ?
5. Do you have the headache after waking up ? I mean in the early mornings. Also how about night times ?
You can reply as a followup
Thank you
Patient replied :
No watery eyes. I went and had an eye exam done yesterday since I seem to have eye strain from reading the computer full time. Dr said I definately need glasses for close up and computer work. Yes, alive helps. No halos. No increase pain if I bend over. It doesn't seem to have a specific time of day headache, can be anytime. I just had my hearing checked and my hearing and eustacian tube was normal.
Thank you for the reply.
The symptoms are not suggestive of an ENT cause like sinusitis. This could be a problem of visual acuity (like an astigmatism or refractory error) . You need to get a complete Opthalmologic evaluation done including tests to rule out glaucoma.
Meanwhile you can take pain medications if the symptoms are severe. Avoid screens (TV, Computer) for long time or long duration at a stretch. Take eyes of the screen every 30 minutes and focus at distant object or just relax for few minutes.
Another possibility is a tension type headache. But this needs to be considered only after ruling out all opthalmologic possibilities.
Please keep me posted. I will keep this consult open.
Hope this helps
Thank you
