L4-L5 level,mild disc bulge L5-S1 level,posterior disc bulge

Resolved Question:

Hi,

I recently had an MRI done on my lower spine and the MRI lab came back as two mild bulging discs. However, my doctor has said that there is no bulge to disregard it.

I need a second opinion, and have all the images on my computer from the MRI copy. Would like some doctor to look it over and give me a second opinion here.

The MRI results specified the following:

"-At the L4-L5 level, there is a mild disc bulge
-At the L5-S1 level, there is a posterior disc bulge effacing the anterior epidural space.

Goes on to further say:

L4-L5 and L5-S1 disc bulges effacing the anterior thecal sac at their respected levels."

Hello,

Thank you for asking the query:

There is a posterior disc bulge in the L5-S1 level.  I cannot comment on the L4-L5 disc bulge or the thecal  sac effacement as the image set appears to be incomplete. (also no DICOM images) From the sagittal sections available there is also possible disc bulge in L4-L5 levels too.

The radiological diagnosis need to be correlated with your clinical finding too. So I would like to know whether you are having any signs or symptoms like low back pain, pain in buttocks or legs? It is not prudent to base of diagnosis based on the MRI finding alone.

Thank you
