Resolved question:
I'm pretty sure there is nothing wrong with me but I can't stop worrying. I just woke up with a loud ringing in my ears. I also had some pain in my sternum, under my breast bone on my left side, some dull achy pain in my left tricep, some bloating, pain in my epigastrium and in my beck near my left shoulder blade. My girlfriend tells me I'm a hypochondriac. I had a period last March when I was in China where I had the same symptoms and had a whole bunch of tests and xrays done. No problem was found and it was determined that I had GERD. I came home and my family doctor determined the same thing. I just want to make sure that a second opinion comes to the same result.

Hello,
Thank you for asking your query at DoctorSpring.
I have analysed your symptoms. Your symptoms are mostly non specific. By non specific I mean that these are not suggestive of a single diagnosis. The good news is that there are NO danger or NO alarming symptoms. The bloating and pain in epigastrium is most likely due to GERD or Acid peptic disease. You can take an OTC anti ulcer medication like Prilosec once daily before food for 7-14 days.
The ringing in ear is non specific. Isolated ringing, which do no persist is of no significance. Other symptoms are musculoskeletal in origin which should resolve by itself in 2-4 days. You will need evaluation if the symptoms persist beyond this time period.
Hope this helps
Please feel free to ask followup questions.
Thank you
I woke up about 25 minutes ago with ringing in my right ear that has persisted. It's not loud. My stomach was churning, my cheeks are flushed, my back is sore and my upper arms feel kind of like they are burning. They are warm to. My lower back hurts also and I'm getting chills (shaking a little). I also am gI don't know what could be wrong?

Hello,
You could be having an inner ear dysfunction - as manifested by the ringing. This could set in a pattern of autonomic symptoms such as your stomach symptoms. Another possibility is a a TIA (Transient Ishemic attack) where the blood flow is compromised to your brain.
Since your symptoms are persisting, I think it is time for you to have an ENT and Neurological evaluation.
You might also feed giddy and nauseous while moving your head. This is part of the symptom pattern. Do get in touch with your hospital.
Feel free to ask followup questions. Technically this consult has expired, but no issues you can get back to me anytime.
Thank you
