Resolved question:
How harmful are skipped heartbeats? I was diagnosed with pvc and pac years ago. I am 30 years old and a mother who is currently breastfeeding an infant. I've had ekg, echo, stress test, hotlter monitor which all came back normal. There are days where I'll feel skipped beats several times in a minute. My cardiologist has told me they are nothing to worry about and no medication is needed. He told me to just ignore them. Is this accurate?

Hello.
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com.
You have multiple PVCs and PACs. Most of your investigations are normal which indicates that you have a structurally normal heart. Even the Holter does not reveal any sinister arrhythmia.
PVCs in a structurally normal heart do not carry a bad prognosis and they do not usually lead to bad outcomes. However, if you are distressed by the frequent palpitations and sensation of skipped beats then you could start therapy with beta blockers for symptomatic relief.
Feel free to ask queries.
