Resolved question:
Hello, I recently noticed that my blood pressure was a bit higher than normal and i'm barely 20, so I saw a doctor and he insisted that I take a High blood pressure test (urine and blood test). But I'm a heavy pot smoker and I quit on the 2nd of this month (May). I was just wondering if the increase in my blood pressure is caused by me smoking it, and I also wanted to find out if THC would come up on the test results because I did not inform the doctor that I smoke and I'm collecting the results next week with my dad. Just wanted to know if i should be worried about it causing my BP to riise and the THC showing up on the tests. Thanks for taking the time to read this, I know doctors are usually pretty busy.

No there is a less chance of THC to appear in your blood tests. Let me explain to you how it works. Marijuana contains an active ingredient called as Delta- 9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) that brings about a sense of relaxation. As soon as it consumed, it enters the blood stream and usually the effect lasts for 1- 4 hours. During that period, it causes stimulation of the brain, which releases dopamine and causes euphoria. THC also causes increased thirst and hunger, dry mouth, pain relief. Smoking is one of the risk factors, which interact with hypertension causing increased heart rate and may lead to Ischemic heart disease. In regard to your question, THC will not appear in your report but since you have been a chronic pot smoker, it would have had some effect on your blood pressure. So there may be an increased blood pressure in your test.
