Resolved question:
Hello. I am a 25 year old male in general good health. I don't take any medications currently. I have a mark on the side of my face and I am unsure if it is a white head or a cold sore. I have never had a cold sore but I am concerned by how close it is to my lips. In 2 of the pictures my face is relaxed and 2 of the pictures my lips are pointed to the side. I have no tingling or pain coming from it and it appeared this morning. Does it just appears to be a white head next to lips or a cold sore?

Hello, Thank you for asking your query. From the information and the images you provided, the lesion does not look like a Cold sore (Herpes Labialis). I am assuming that you have no other symptoms of like sore throat, itching, redness of mouth or slight itching of the area (to start with). So this can be a case of simple acne or folliculitis. But there is a rare possibility that this is an early stage of Herpes labialis which may evolve to typical clinical picture. I would recommend you not to apply pressure over lesion. Wash using a mild detergent/soap/face wash. Use clean towel to wipe gently. The lesion should disappear in 2-3 days. If not you may want consult a Dermatologist. Hope this helps Thank you
