Resolved question:
Hi there,

I have received a basic medical peformed on me yesterday and would like the Urine analysis section explained further.

It has written Urine analysis: Albumin: MIC Sugar: MIC Blood: MIC other: MPD

What do these each stand for and mean?

Dear sir,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com

The words MIC and PMD are not standard terminology used and hence it shall be very difficult for me to interpret the report for you. It shall be great if you could talk to the laboratory and find out what they stand for and then we shall talk from there. MIC is a term used in urine culture sensitivity reports, where it means minimum inhibitory concentration, and it is not used in routine urine analysis. PMD is post micturition dribble, which is again found through other tests, and not in the routine urine examination. Kindly clarify with them and get back to me, I will be happy to help you further,

Take care
Sincerely
Rajiv Goel
