Unable to ejaculate after taking medication for fever.

Resolved question:
Briefly I am not able to ejaculate semen. Everything was fine until previous wednesday, I used to masturbate twice thrice a day. Wednesday night I had a fever and I went to doctor on thursday morning, she gave me some medications. I mostly slept on thursday and even on Friday I had little fever. I felt mostly tired but tried to masturbate, and wasn't able to masturbate. My penis is getting hard but I am not able to ejaculate any semen. On sunday evening I was admitted into hospital for apenditicitis, I was discharged today. I tried to masturbate today, but wasn't able to. I am really worried what has happened ?

Hello
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com

I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what
you are going through.
The most common cause of failure to ejaculate is drug induced. You had
a long fever and were also operated on. Now that means you were on
plenty of medicines and many medicines are implicated in the failure
to ejaculate. Mostly this is a temporary phenomenon and things should
improve with time ones you are off medications. You may wait for 10-15
days after you have come off medicines and normally the ejaculation
should resume.
Hope this helps,
If you have any further query, do let me know.
Kind regards
Dr. Srikanth Reddy

Is there any test that I need to go through. I have been through fever before but it did not happen. Which type of practicioner is best in such cases, a sexologist or a urologist ?I

Hello
At present no test required. Give some time of 7-14 days.
In case if the symptoms persist then you may under go a penile doppler
study.
Sexologist is a better person to handle such issues.

Hello,
Please do not worry.
I can assure you this is a temporary phenomenon and is not going to last beyond 2 weeks.
A lot of patients face the same problem and it is completely reversible.
You have one more follow up with me. So update me after 10 days.
Regards.
