Hi. I recently began to experience trouble urinating at night (about 5 days ago,) where i would feel like I would need to urinate, but no urine would come out. I was drinking a lot of water during the day and decided to cut back and not drink anything after six pm. One night, the feeling of having to urinate was unbearable and the area above my groin had a level of discomfort. This kept me up literally the entire night. The next day, I experienced this feeling the entire day (constantly feeling like I would have to urinate.) I sometimes really had to, but my urine would stall before coming out (I could literally feel the urine stalling in the area around my genitilia,) and although it wouldn't burn, it came out in stalled amounts with me still feeling like I needed to go afterwards.I went to my pediatrician. He said it might be possible that i had bowel spasms. The urine sample I brought in wasn't sanitary at the time, so he said he would dip a probe in it or something along those lines, and told me that my protein levels were fine. While he did examine my groin region thoroughly, i am unaware if he took my prostate into account in any way. I read up on the symptoms of an enlarged prostate and they pretty much mirror mine. I also wanted to see if the same blockage applied with my seminal fluids, and as I found out, I am indeed unable to produce the same amount as I was prior to having this problem. Additionally, there is a clear loss of sex drive (difficulty becoming fully errect.)This is an embarrassing problem but I am unable to sleep at night and now fear that this is permanent or worse. I don't know what could've caused this problem, but prior to this I had mononucleosis about am month ago, along with an increased CK level from the sports supplement I was on (creatine.) My doctor had me get off of that, and I no longer take any sports supplements so I have no idea what could be causing this problem. I exercise and lift weights everyday. If someone could please tell me what to do, what this is and if it's permanent, it would be largely appreciated. The lack of sleep has taken a toll and I now have little to no energy and constant mild discomfort from this problem.
