Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
Neurofibromas are a gentically acquired disease where there are tumors arising from the nerve tissue and can present as multiple tumors all around the body, can include any nerve tissue.
Do you have a history of neurofibromatosis?
Also since how long have you been having these bumps? Was it an allergic reaction, or they have been present for some time?
Regards.
Thank you for replied. I've been having these bumps since I was teen. I am now 25 yo. I dont have any past medical history as you mentioned above. My father also have these bumps but only few. As for me it can be seen clearly on my neck, hands, back and thighs. Regards.
Hello,
Thank you for the follow up.
With an onset in your adulthood, and with a similar history in your father it mostly points to neurofibroma.
You need to be evaluated by a neurologist.
Normally they don't cause any symptoms, however i still recommedn you get an neurologist examination for confirmation.
Regards.
I was hospitalized and suspected for SLE before. It was on 2010. But after 2011 I haven't go for next review. Does it related to my past medical history?
Hello,
SLE is an auto immune disease while Neurofibromas are genetically acquired tumors of the nerve bodies.
So they are two different entities altogether.
Regards.
