Hello,
Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern. To give you better advice I need to understand your symptoms.
May I know when it has started?
Is it tender/painful?
Is it red/inflamed?
Is there a history of trauma?
Is there associated itching?
How old are you?
Is it unilateral/or in both the legs?
If possible could you upload the picture?
Please revert back with answers
Thank you

It started last week, I did hit it like 9 years ago but never bothered me. I wear boots and ankle socks and after getting out from work 12 hour shit I feel like it's irritated. Right now it's not bothering me I just didn't want it to get worse. It's only on one leg. The redness is gone now that I've rested. The only thing that worried me was how red it gets , normally I don't even worry about these things and just let them heal but am currently working 5 day weeks 10-12 hour shifts
Hello,
I can appreciate the inflammation and the irritated skin.
You need to apply Mupirocin ointment 2-3 times daily after cleaning the area with povidone-iodine solution, and this has to be continued for a week. You need to avoid boots if possible as further pressure will only worsen the swelling as well the injury area.
I will also advise you to take Diclofenac or Advil orally till the swelling completely subsides. Alternatively, you can apply Diclofenac gel after the application of Mupirocin.
Hope this was helpful,
Regards.

I applied cortisone for the itching and I believe that may have helped. From the picture what would you think it is or caused by.should I wrap it to avoid irritation
Hello,
It seems to be a pressure related symptom. May be, the socks are too tight?
It does not look infected.
Yes, please apply both Mupirocin and Cortisone, cortisone will relieve both the itching as well as the swelling.
Let me know the response in 7 days.
Regards.
