My girlfriends Hymen was broken last night by mistake (she's 23), amount of blood was large however stopped as soon as she started bleeding. is there a way that she can recover her hymen without surgery? what do we need to do? it there a time limit to recover in case she didnt have any intercorse for a period of time? in case we need surgery to permanently recover her hymen, which type of surgery is the best? and how simple is it?

Hello, Thank you for asking the query. A hymen which is ruptured will heal itself after in a day or two. But there is no natural way to recover a ruptured hymen. Even if there was rupture of the hymen and bleeding, it is not that the complete area of the hymen is damaged. There could be still remnants of the hymen attached to the vaginal wall. But any further sexual intercourse or similar activities can damage the hymen remnants. So there is no particulare time frame to ‘heal’ So that means if you have to restore the hymen permanently, Hymenoplasty is the best way to go forth. This is a very simple Surgery, which can be done in Outpatient setting. This procedure will only require a local anaesthesia. The patient can go home immediately after the procedure and resume normal activities in a day. This is best done a couple of weeks before the desired purpose (eg marriage). Hope this helps. Please feel free to ask follow-up questions if you have any.You can reply via this email itself.
Thank you.
Thank you doctor for your reply. 1- in case of healing alone without an operation, how do we know that it has healed completely? 2- in cas of the operation. we want to make the operation to restore hymen permanently however not for a specific target date (marriage), it was just a mistake that we want to recover? it there a time frame for the operation whereby the effect of it wont be there after a year or 2? do we have to re do it only 2 weeks prior to the date? Thank you.
i habe 2 question regarding your answer:
Hello, 2. Yes you can restore it any time. There is no time interval suggested. But please note, if there is any sexual intercourse / similar the rupture will again happen. That's all. If that is not a concern then it can be done at any point of time. Thank you.
1.There is will not be a complete healing without surgery. The amount and extend can be accessed by a vaginal examination by a qualified Doctor, if the person consents.
