Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
Before I can comment, I need to know your height, weight, and BMI.
Was any ECG done on you? Was your Triglycerides over 2200??
And also was your BP checked recently?
Kindly get back with the replies to the above questions,
Regards.
Patient replied :
EKG was done a few months ago. Yes triglycerides were above 2200, I am seeing my cardiologist Monday but I am very worried that it may be too late and if I should go to a hospital.
Height is 5'9 and weight is 250. I have been very scared this past week so I have completely cleaned my diet. I now drink green smoothies, have removed all oily/junk foods from my diet, and eat much less. The good news is that I have completely changed my diet around because this incident has scared me so much, but I am also very scared that I may have done too much damage already.
I don't know what ECG is (i had an EKG done) but my blood pressure was high at my checkup and I did a stress test (walking on treadmill) after which my blood pressure quickly returned to normal. My blood pressure was 110/70 after the stress test.
One other thing, sometimes when I have the chest pain I can stretch my arms back and I can hear a small popping sound (sounds like a hardened artery "cracking" / popping after which the pain gets a little better. I also have foot sores on my foot that have not healed for months and when I walk a few blocks or even a flight of stairs I lose a little bit of feeling in my leg.
I am 99% sure there is something very wrong relating to my body/heart, I am just scared that I might have a heart attack between today and Monday when I have my appointment?
I attached pictures to show which part of my chest has the pain feeling when I move / sit. This chest pain only happens at night! I excercise at 7PM doing brazilian jiujitsu for 60 - 120 minutes 3 - 4 days a week, and around 10 at night I have this chest pain when I sit at my computer.
Hello,
Since the Triglycerides are so high, chest pain and generalized unwell feeling can be expected.
As you're having chest pain, you need to repeat the EKG, however, since, it was normal last time, a Heart Attack does not seem likely at all. Moreover you're too young, and with a change in diet which you did already, your weight will come down, and this will reduce the impact on the heart.
The foot sores and the loss of sensation in the legs, could be due to your body weight, and once this reduces, the foot problems will get better too. You need to get FBS/PPBS or sugar levels checked as high sugars lead to delay in wound healing.
Even though the chances are low, I will request you to get a repeat EKG done, which is the only way to find out if the pain is related to your heart.
Feel free to discuss further,
Regards.
