Steaming inhalations that I have advised in my previous reply, are to be done for a minimum of three times a day with a no limit for the maximum number. The response to steam inhalation depends on the frequency of taking it and also the method you are using. Now, as for your description you are common cold, which is a viral infection has turned out to be a bacterial infection. I would recommend you to do the following:
1)avoid cold weather.
2)Avoid cold liquids and foods.
3)Take steaming inhalations are at least three times a day.
4)Do some breathing exercises to relieve your nose block.
5)Use antihistamines such as Levocet for symptomatic relief.
6)Consider using antibiotics if necessary, or as indicated by the physician.
