Resolved question:
I develop sudden intolerances to random, unrelated foods and the amount of food I cannot eat is piling up. What could be the cause?
These occur suddenly and I get diarrhea within an hour. It started with tomatoes a few years back, I used to be able to eat anything. Now I have to watch for some fried foods, tomatoes, certain types of sauces, Salmon, sushi, and various others fruits and vegetables and sauces.
I visited a doctor who ran blood tests and a colonoscopy and endoscopy and everything came back normal.

Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me with more information.
This may not be due to intolerance to certain food items. It could be due to irritable bowel syndrome.
I would advise you to get a stool test, a complete blood count, test for celiac disease and test for fructose intolerance done before calling it as irritable bowel syndrome.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
Thanks, I actually had all those tests and they turned out negative. What would the next steps be for me?
Hi,
Then the treatment should be for irritable bowel syndrome.
Take Rifaximin for 2 weeks.
Take either colospa retard or librax along with ramiseteron for 4 weeks for relief.
Avoid milk and milk products.
Discuss with your doctor for prescription .
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
What are all these and what do they do?
Rifaximin is an antibiotic given for bacterial overgrowth. Similar patients have been cured after a week's treatment with Rifaximin.
The other medicines will help in relieving your discomfort too.
Regards.
