Patient replied :

No fever, no discharge, no pain. Basically I feel fine but was surprised that my eye/area around it was still swollen this morning. Googling "swollen eye" just increased my anxiety. I have attached images trying to get as close as I can to my eye

Thankyou for your reply and for the images. I went through the images and your's is a case of a stye. Stye is an infection of the sebaceous glands at the base of the eyelashes. Cellulitis is an infection that is more widespread accompanied with large areas of involvement which is red, swollen and painful, with fever & chills.I advice you to use an antibiotic eyedrop/gel -2 drops of Ciprofloxacin - 3 times daily till it clears. This will take care of the infection. Take - Tab.Tylenol 500mg - 3 times daily after a meal for 3 days. This will help reduce the swelling and pain.Do warm water fermentation- Take a clean sterile cloth, dip it in warm water and keep it on the swelling for a while. Repeat this a few times. However if your swelling and pain increase or you get a fever you will need to visit the ophthalmologist. Wishing you a speedy recovery and you can follow up with any query.Thankyou.
