Small mass in FRENULUM which is sore and weeping.

Resolved Question:

I am 65 year old male. In my youth, I noticed a small mass within my frenulum (I know the word now - didn't then!). As I aged, it got somewhat larger, and by 35 or so, my doctor would comment about my having a built in French tickler, but no one indicated it was something I should do anything about. At about 40, i awakened one day with a very sore and weeping frenulum, and manually squeezed out what appeared to be a quantity of white, semi fluid pus. Immediately, I had no more pain, and the 'tickler' was gone. Healing was nearly immediate.
I have assumed, (I know, not a doc, but an engineer!) that I simply had a smegma secreting duct situated such that it exited INTO the frenulum, as opposed to just between the foreskin and the penis. My question, now, at 65, I am noticing it seems to be coming back. The mass is much smaller than back then, but is clearly there. Just as before, it can be manipulated into different 'shapes' manually - rather like play-dough. Probably about 1/8 the size it was before, but I begin to wonder if I should visit a urologist or celebrate the return of the tickler!

Dear sir,
Thank you for your posting your query at DoctorSpring.com

You have sebaceous cyst on the frenulum. Sebaceous cyst is formed when opening of the sweat glands gets closed. The white cheesy, dough-like material is sebum. The cyst keeps on growing with time as sebum keeps on getting collected.
Occasionally the cyst gets opened and the cheesy material comes out as it was in your case. The cyst once it gets opened it can become infected( you were lucky not to get infection).
The ideal treatment for such cyst is observation with little fiddling or excision by surgery. Call is yours.

Take care
Sincerely
Rajiv goel
