Hello.
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com.
I understand your concern.
The two tests are meant to provide different information. The 2D ECHO indicates that the heart is so far undamaged and having a normal function. However, the other test suggests that when put under stress, the blood supply to her heart is reduced. A large area of the heart has moderately reduced blood supply under stress of moderate intensity. This indicates that there may be blockages in the arteries (blood vessels) of your mother's heart. This requires a coronary angiography for further definition of the coronary artery anatomy and to find the blockages.
Depending on the number and the severity of blockages as seen on the angiography, she can be advised either angioplasty, bypass surgery or just medical treatment.
I hope this was helpful. Feel free to discuss further.
Regards,
Dr Vivek Mahajan,
DM Cardiology.
