Resolved question:
I am a 19 year old male. I've been struggling for the past week or so with severe stomach bloating. I have been diagnosed with IBS a couple of years ago but I have never had this symptom of bloating and definitely not last as long as it does. It seems to be less noticeable when I'm seated, but when I'm up and about it feels as though I'm going to burst! Been to the doctors twice about this now and have tried Mebeverine and Lansoprazole which have both had no effect.

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
You are having dyspeptic symptoms.
Sometimes functional dyspepsia is associated IBS.
The bloating could be due to increased gas or slow functioning of the stomach and intestine (called dysmotility).
You will get benefited with a course of medications called prokinetics. You can take Levosulpiride 25 mg thrice a day before food for 4 weeks initially.
In addition take a course of probiotics.
Check your blood glucose level and also get tested for Helicobacter pylori infection as these two can cause similar symptoms.
I hope that answers your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
