Seriousness, course of action in diagnosis HEPATITIS-B.

Resolved question:
My father 78 yrs have been diagnosed with Hep B ( Serum HBeAg : Reactive 6.24; Serum Anti HBe : non Reactive indeX 13.34) and no discomfort or external symptom of infection. Please suggest on the seriousness and next course of action.

I understand your concern.
Considering his age, you need to be careful, monitoring his liver enzymes every 3 months, if he shows symptoms like loss of appetite and weight loss.
Also, he needs to take silymarin syrup twice daily under your family physician's care.
He should avoid fatty food, or spicy food, and avoid alcohol ( in case he drinks ).
Since he has no symptoms as of now, it is a good sign, so it is not very serious. But he needs to be careful and I will also suggest he should be under the care of a medical gastroenterologist.
