Resolved question:
My daughter is 18 and had gastric sleeve surgery 7 weeks ago. Next month she is planning to go to a rave and wants to take xtc. I am terrified but she is an adult and doesn't live with me. How dangerous is it for her? Please get me any info you can! Thank you

Hi,
Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
XTC can cause addiction with lot of harmful effects.
It can cause liver, kidney and heart failure.
It can cause blurred vision and fainting.
It can also cause confusion, anxiety, depression and sleep issues.
So it is better to avoid XTC.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Regards.

Are the risks higher for someone who had gastric sleeve surgery?
Hi,
Xtc gets absorbed from both the stomach and small intestine.
Its absorption is more in the small intestine.
In sleeve gastrectomy, part of the stomach is removed.
But the drug can still get absorbed from the small intestine.
So the risk is the same in those who had sleeve gastrectomy.

What about dehydration? Is there a greater risk of that with gastric sleeve and xtc?
No, most of the fluid is absorbed from the small intestine. No risk of dehydration.
