Hello,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.
Trichomoniasis is fairly common. I would recommend that you visit your doctor who can examine you and then recommend further treatment of trichomoniasis if required.
HSV 1 can cause oral and genital lesions. It can spread through genito oral , oral to oral and genital to genital contact.
The probability of transmission depends in individual factors like the immunity of the individual etc. However, transmission of HSV 1 is not uncommon.
If a person already has it and comes into contact with another person having it, he can get a recurrence.
HPV can stay dormant in skin for a few years and can resurface at times. This again depends on the individual immunity.
It can commonly cause cervical cancer in women and uncommonly cancer in men.
Hope I have answered all your queries. Please feel free to discuss further.
Take care

Thank you!
Is genital hsv-1 common? For my trich test, the doctor said they will need a urine sample. Is this how a trich test is performed in men? Is it true that, in most cases, HPV goes away on its own?
Thanks again!
Hello,
Thanks for your reply.
Genital hsv 1 is common. Hpv needs to be treated, out won't go away on its own usually. Only very rarely does it resolve on its own.
Trichomoniasis is usually detected through tests done on the discharge from vagina in women or urethra in men. Sometimes urine test is done for men.

Thank you so much. I suppose there is no way to test if I have genital hsv-1, since I already have cold sores, is there?
How do you treat HPV? I thought it was unable to be treated.
Do you know if my trich test will still be accurate?
Thanks!
Hello,
Thanks for your reply.
It will be difficult to test for genital HSV 1 since you already have cold sores.
HPV can be treated by application of Aldara cream on the warts our the warts can be frozen . It is treatable.
The trich test should still be accurate, however you can request your doctor to send the discharge for examination in addition to urine examination.
Take care.

Thank you once again!
I have one final question. I was diagnosed with high-risk HPV. I read that in most cases, this form of HPV goes away on its own (within a couple of years) with no symptoms. I went to the doctor and had a colposcopy, and he said that everything looked fine. How likely is it that this form of HPV will go away on its own? Is it possible for it to go into remission and come back? If so, how likely is that?
You have been so helpful - thank you!
Hello
Thanks for your reply.
If you have a high risk hpv then you are at a higher risk for getting cervical cancer.
There are usually no symptoms.
Hence its important to get periodic pap smears done in order for early detection of cancer. So please do not miss it.
There is usually no remission. Once its detected it may cause inflammation and if the inflammation is detected early it can prevent cancer.
