Rash with bumps under skin, sore throat. Treatment.

Resolved question:
I have developed a rash primarily on one side of my face. It is a series of bumps under the skin, and is red and hot to the touch. It has been here for more than 24 hours with no improvement. I have a slight sore throat.

I have no history of acne nor do not usually suffer from spots so it is very strange.

I have no allergies and have not eaten anything new nor come into contact with anything new.

In the last 48 hours, I have been in the sun and have used a shared yoga mat.

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
It is possible that you could have residual infection from the miscarriage that you think you had.
Alternatively it could be a spontaneous de novo infection.
You need an internal exam by a Gynecologist, a Pap smear ( you have had it , but need the results ) , a vaginal swab to document infection, and a pelvic transvaginal ultrasound scan.
Please get the workup done as suggested.
Till then have protected sex to avoid flare up of infection.
Get a complete urine testing also done.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.
Regards.

Hi thanks for your response so it could be possible to have an infection from the miscarriage that was 5 months ago? Will this mean that I could have trouble conceiving ? Should I get the ultrasound done now anyway or wait until pap smear results? Will the pap smear results show if I could have an infection due to a miscarriage? Or should I book in to have this done anyway?
Thank you

Hello,
Thank you for your follow up query.
See, the Pap smear assesses the cervix, the mouth of the uterus. IT would show if you have cervicitis.
A vaginal swab would pick up vaginal infection.
An ultrasound scan / endometrial biopsy would assess the interior of the uterus.
Since you are having regular periods, it is highly unlikely that the infection has been severe enough to hamper fertility.
At the worst , it would be a mild infection that can be easily treated with proper culture based antibiotics.
You should book an appointment with an OB - GYN for an internal assessment, an internal swab and a pelvic scan.
Hope this helps. Feel free to discuss further

I've got my papsmear results back and that was all clear. However due to the inflammation and scaring they couldn't get any cells of the lower part. Would it of still picked up if I had PiD or cervicitis if they couldn't get cells from here? Since the papsmear I've had a bit of a smelly brown discharge that's lasted bout a week, only little bit each day but is this something of concern?
Should I still go back and inform them of the miscarriage and get them to do checks or would this papsmear have shown all of that. I'm concerened I cant get pregnant as have been trying for 4 months this time round periods have been normal except for the last one which was very light. Thank you

I don't have copies of the report

Hello,
The smear would have definitely picked up cervicitis.
Once again it cannot pick up PID or anything inside the uterus since it assesses only the cervix.
Please tell them about the miscarriage and ask them to run the tests.
You would only be reassured if they are negative.
Take care.
Regards.
