PROSTATITIS and pain in penis, KIDNEY STONE in CT. STD?

Resolved Question:

Hello.

It has been 6 weeks since I last had sex (oral). Since then I have had a bought of prostatitis and pain in my penis. I was put on two weeks of Cipro and then two weeks of Doxy. I was tested for STD's twice (at two and 4 weeks - HIV/Gono/Chlym/HSV1 and 2/Hep B/C). All tests came back negative.

Last Sunday I passed a Kidney stone. I thought things were going to be better, but I still have some abdominal pain and my penis still hurts. Also, I did have a CT scan and there are no stones in my bladder or Ureters at this point (although there are two very small stones up in my kidney that the Urologist does not think is in play here)

Could this be an STD? If not, what else could it be at this point? Any suggestions as my Urologist just thinks I should wait it out and take Naproxen.

What is your thoughts with what I provided? Can you give me your opinion?

Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com.

Dear sir,
In all probability, your symptoms were due to the stone rather than Prostatitis or STDs.
Some of your symptoms are persisting due to the trauma to the urinary tract incurred during the passage of stone.
Just take Naproxen as suggested by your doctor and symptoms should subside by themselves. Nothing to worry.

Let me know if you have further queries.

Take care.

Is your professional opinion that I should relax and let it go its course? At what point (how many days) should I consult with my Urologist again? Any other testing you would recommend?

Dear sir,
Please wait for 2 weeks and if things don't improve then you need to re-consult your urologist.
Usually the trauma to the the urinary tract after passage of a stone, heals completely by itself in 2-3 weeks. So you need not worry. Your symptoms will improve as Naproxen will not only help with the pain/discomfort but has anti-inflammatory effects which will help with the healing. So please relax.
Take care.
