Resolved question:
Hello.
I have a prominent neck node (rubbery, moveable) under 1cm (0.5-0.8) for 3 months - towards the back of my neck on the hairline. Its been twice examined by my doctor and an ultrasound performed at my request. This looked ok, with no sign of any cause for concern. I also had a blood test (normal). The Doctor is not worried and told me to come back in May, but I am just looking for a second opinion for any cause for concern here. I have no other symptoms.
I'd read that biopsy is the only way to know for sure, but I don't want to over-react if that's not necessary
Thanks

Hello,
Thank you for your consult at DoctorSpring.com. I can understand your problem, and will try to help you the best possible
Neck node < 1 cm is not significant. So no need to do biopsy or any other investigation. If it is increasing in size which is also very unlikely in your
case (node is same since 3 months) then only we need to think about any
investigation. I think correctly advised by your doctor to revisit in May.
Hope this helps. Please feel free to ask if you have any further queries.
Thank you.

Thanks very much. I tend to be anxious on such things, so appreciate the reassurance. Just one follow up question - might this mode stay like this for some time? I guess some of the anxiety is rlated ot the fact its still there. If I know these can hang around for a while I'll probably be more relaxed!
Hello,
I can understand your anxiety. This node may stay for months or more than a year, If it is not increasing in size (which is very unlikely) then there is nothing for you to do.
